Governance Structure

AQA token holders will vote on proposals, with voting power based on one address, one vote or quadratic voting.

Aquara’s governance structure is designed to give all AQA token holders a voice in major decisions, including protocol changes, reserve allocations, and strategic directions:

Community Assembly: Composed of all AQA token holders, the Assembly will vote on key decisions.

Voting Power: Voting power will vary by the type of proposal:

  • One Address, One Vote: Used for ethical and social proposals (e.g., community governance and water management) to ensure equal participation.

  • Quadratic Voting: Used for financial and strategic decisions (e.g., treasury management), where token holdings provide greater influence, but with diminishing returns to prevent disproportionate control.

Voting Eligibility: Only tokens held by the community (and not by the Aquara Foundation) will be eligible to vote.
