Governance Evolution

Governance will transition from foundation-led to full decentralization in three phases, empowering the community over time.

Aquara’s transition to a fully decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) will happen in phases:

Phase 1 (2026-2028): The Foundation will lead governance while the community begins voting on key decisions. Councils will assist in an advisory role.

Phase 2 (2029-2031): Councils gain more autonomy, with voting power shifting toward tokenholders, who will influence governance decisions on strategic and financial matters.

Phase 3 (2032-2036): Full decentralization occurs, with tokenholders and DAO councils exclusively driving governance decisions, and smart contracts enabling seamless, community-led operations.
